Aaron Schoepf, a beloved student at Manhattan College, passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 21. His sudden departure has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire college community.
Born and raised in Washingtonville, New York, Aaron was a vibrant, creative, and passionate young man who touched the lives of many. He was a rising senior at Manhattan College, pursuing a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, along with double minors in Music and Theater. His love for the arts was evident in everything he did, from performing on stage to writing stories that captured the depth of human emotion.
Aaron was an active member of the Manhattan College community. He worked at the Pride Center, where he fostered inclusivity and support for LGBTQ+ students. As the Secretary of WRCM (College Radio) and House Manager of MC Players, he played an essential role in student life, bringing energy and dedication to every endeavor.
Beyond his academic and extracurricular pursuits, Aaron was a compassionate friend and a dedicated worker. He was a Sales Associate at Vans Outlet, known for his exceptional customer service and warm personality. His work experience also included time at HomeGoods, where he was recognized for his strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Aaron’s love for theater, music, and writing shaped his identity. He was not just a student; he was an artist, a storyteller, and a dreamer. His performances and creative works resonated deeply with those who knew him, and his impact will continue to be felt in the artistic and academic communities he was part of.
Aaron is survived by his loving family, his partner Tyler Kaplan, and a wide circle of friends, classmates, and mentors who cherished him dearly. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and inclusivity will forever be remembered.
The Manhattan College community will honor Aaron’s memory with a prayer service on April 4 in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Grief counseling and support services are available for those affected by this profound loss.
Aaron’s light shone brightly in the lives of those who knew him. Though his time with us was tragically short, his impact will endure through the love, art, and inspiration he shared with the world.
